National Sculpture Society’s 88th Annual Awards Exhibit, 2021

‘M’akhotso, Mother of Peace was the recipient of the Ortmayer/Corcoran Teacher Inspiration Award and also First Runner-Up for the People’s Choice Award in the National Sculpture Society’s 88th Annual Awards Exhibit at Brookgreen Gardens, South Carolina. See event photo

As an award winner, this sculpture is now being exhibited in the National Sculpture Society Gallery in New York City from Oct 4 – Dec 10, 2021.

During this time ‘M’akhotso, Mother of Peace was also exhibited in an online show called Lifting the Sky with the American Women Artists. She was one of 150 art pieces (which included both sculptures and paintings) that were chosen from 2400 entries!

ArtsAlive 2019

Winds of Time

ArtsAlive is Oak Bay Parks, Recreation and Culture’s annual public sculpture program, that showcase pieces outdoors for approximately one year, on temporary loan by the artists. This year, Linda Lindsay submitted Winds of Time, which can be seen in Oak Bay at the crosswalk near Pharmasave. Learn More

ArtsAlive 2018

The first bronze in this edition of ‘M’akhotso, Mother of Peace has been purchased through community contributions, and will remain in front of the Oak Bay Library, and Monterey Centre reminding us of the legacy of the late Mayor Nils Jensen, who was himself an immigrant. Learn More
